One long look at one work of art
Aug 2024 – When I was a kid and rolled up sheets of newspaper and tied them into knots for kindling, little did I know that many decades later I would meet an artist who created portraits of Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark with rolled newspaper. Gugger Petter has done just that and shows her current work at Evoke.

Sept 2025 – Gugger Petter lived in Mexico for 11 years where she “learned to my great despair that nothing was ever done to help or support any of the millions of stray dogs in this country. To this fact, I decided in 1994 that I would pay tribute to these dogs by creating sculptures in bronze and mixed media. I entitled this group Stray Dogs.

On June 18th 2015, the Embassy of Denmark had the honor of welcoming the 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, to a reception and unveiling of the portrait “President Bill Clinton” by the famous Danish artist, Gugger Petter.

On Thursday, May 31, 2012, while the Queen was receiving US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen, it was Princess Mary ‘s turn to have her portrait painted and to add to the collection of portraits housed in the palace, located in Hillerød.
